For this job the following is required :
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent preferred
- A.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Design Technology acceptable
- 2(+) years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical design drafting experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes; sheet metal fabrication, die casting, CNC
- Knowledge of UL, NEMA, and CSA standards.
- Solid Edge or equivalent 3D skills
- SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational/prioritization skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good technical writing skills
- Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Attentive to details and accuracy
- Time management skills
The primary function of the Product Engineer is to provide support for the Prescolite Sustaining Team in the form of processing Engineering Change Requests, master data maintenance, drafting, and value engineering of legacy products as directed by the manager. Will create and develop engineering drawings in Solid Edge for the purpose of producing parts and assemblies for the products manufactured by the Prescolite brand of GE Current. This also includes the function of maintaining and loading material masters, bill of materials, and drawing records into GE Current’s SAP business system.
