AutoCAD/GIS Spring Intern

Wildlands Engineering is seeking motivated individuals to assist our growing Charleston team through an AutoCAD/GIS Spring 2023 intern position. We are looking for students enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Aided Drafting with a focus on civil design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) degree, or related applicable technology discipline. The is an office-based position and is a paid, full-time or part-time, hourly internship.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Assist with data processing, concept plan development, construction document production and GIS mapping of ecological restoration projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
3. Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analysis and processing of field collected data.
2. Preparation of report figures in ArcGIS.
3. Preparation of conceptual and construction plan sheet sets in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
1. ArcGIS and or/AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
2. PC/Windows-based software experience required with experience in Word and Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
2. Long hours in front of a computer and computer screen.
3. Potential for field work that may include up to eight hours of intermittent standing or walking outside on unleveled ground in an eight-hour workday.
