Must possess a current South Carolina commercial driver’s license with proper endorsements to drive a school/activity bus, and pass a DOT drug and alcohol testing. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of highway and university bus regulation, how to deal with students, how to deal with students with special needs, scheduling system and procedures, record keeping system and equipment cleaning standards and procedures. Ability to operate bus in a safe and responsible manner. Client service and public interaction skills, team building, analytical and problem solving skills. Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Description:
Responsible for safely operating the bus according to a set daily schedule. The Bus Driver ensures that the bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, assist students when necessary, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct.
(May include nights, weekends, holidays and possible overnight travel.)
