Requirements:
 

BS Engineering, Design Technology or technical college training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of two years experience as a CAD Programmer

Working knowledge of design specifications and manufacturing processes.

Ability to read measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, micrometers, caliphers, dial indicators, and gauges
 

Job Description:
 

Metals USA -- has an immediate opening for a CAD / CAM Programmer, in the Oakwood, GA facility. The CAD/CAM Programmer must be familiar with CNC equipment using Auto-CAD; to create drawings and CNC programs using the CAD/CAM software for coordinating all production and technical communications between customers, sales and manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develops, designs and details mechanical components, process plans using Auto-CAD. Acts as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing and sales departments. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, test finished product and system capabilities, confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes. Nests parts as required on sheets or blanks to maximize material and production efficiency. Provides design assistance for products and produce engineer drawings. Provides print generation capability from customer CAD files. Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data. Works closely with CNC operators to determine proper tooling, speed feed ratios for optimal performance output. Monitors, documents and controls any changes made to CNC programs. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Notifies management of product discrepancies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Prioritizes tasks based on given timelines and willing to work to meet required project deadlines. Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. Regular and predictable attendance is expected to perform the duties of a CAD/CAM Programmer. Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements. Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner. Performs other related duties as assigned.
