Requirements:

Minimum Education  Other - 1-2 years echocardiography and vascular schooling experience preferred.

Minimum Experience   No previous experience required - 2 years of full-time echocardiography and vascular sonography preferred.

Required Certifications/Registrations/License  RCT or RDCS, and RVT preferredBLS certification required

Other Required Experience  M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color-Flow Doppler; basic life support; knowledge of non-invasive vascular studies, ultrasound equipment, anatomy , physiology, pathophysiology of the vascular tree; must possess skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include infants, pediatrics, adolescent; adult and geriatric patients.

Job Description:

Job Summary

Performs both technical tasks and clerical functions. Responsible for performing echocardiograph studies and high quality peripheral vascular studies including duplex imaging and plethysmography of upper and lower extremity vasculature, abdominal viscera and cranial vessels.

Accountabilities

Maintains patient records and schedules patients.  10%

Performs M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler and Color-Flow Doppler echocardiographs.  10%

Performs all modalities of PV studies, i.e. venous, arterial, imaging, Doppler and plethysmography.  10%

Reports findings verbally to ordering physicians under the direction of a physician approved to read studies in the lab. 10%

Completes appropriate paperwork, i.e. mounts and measures echocardiographs, logs and indexes patients, prepares patient folders, maintains cross index of patients and studies.  10%

Participates in meetings and conferences, shares in the instruction of new employees and residents and keeps physicians abreast of changes in the field.  10%

Must maintain the appropriate number of CME credits required by ICAEL and ICAVL.  10%

Responsible for Quality Assurance program and assists with research data.  10%

Assists with overall operation of lab.  10%

Performs other duties as needed.  10%
