Position Summary
The Cell Operator I performs a variety of machine operations utilizing Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications.
Job Duties
Inspects, deburrs, and loads parts in order to maintain continuous parts production.
Runs two or more operations using CNC and conventional machines to include horizontal and vertical machines.
Operates a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), interprets Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and data, initiate and/or takes corrective action necessary to return process back into control.
Performs tool changes as required. Adjusts offsets to make quality parts.
Performs regular maintenance duties on assigned machines, to include maintaining coolant, coolant concentrate, and hydraulic oil at correct levels.
Works with other shift operators and Set-Up Technicians to maintain continuous parts production.
Supports and engages in Lean activities to create a continuous improvement environment.
Other duties as assigned.
