CNC Programmer

Required Skills:

3+2 axis milling programming ownership experience, 5-axis experience a plus

NX CAM experience with smaller features (Candidate should be ready to discuss pros/cons of a few differenttypes of operations (streamline, surface area, etc.))

Able and willing to operate milling machine (up to 20 hours per week as program trials dictate)

Willingness to share ownership of the programming for an extremely complex component with GE programmers

Willingness to share responsibility for running trial cuts

Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings and models

Additional Preferred Skills:

Probing experience for 3+2 machining and freeform shapes

Small tool milling (around 0.020”) of nickel alloys

Vericut experience including qualification of an untested machine simulation

Milling, Grinding, Joining, Fast Hole EDM, Sinker EDM, or Laser Drilling experience

NX CAD/CAM experience with ability to read and understand NC machine code (M and G code programming),specifically, Fanuc 5-axis tracking functions experience such as G54.4

Experience with machine performance measurement, calibration, and compensation

Experience with fixture design and inspection technologies (gaging, machine tool probing, CMMs, etc)

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing process improvement experience

Product expertise in gas turbine or aviation components

Statistical process capability analysis skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in fast paced environment

Strong attention to detail

Willingness to take initiative

Attend work consistently in an always on time and reliable manner

Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site

Understand and follow direction from the direct supervisor

The job also requires the ability to raise or lower an object of approximately 5-50 pounds from one level to another, the ability to transport an object of up to 50 pounds a distance of up to 10 yards, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder, the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves away from the force, and/or the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves toward the force.

Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2 ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
