High School graduate minimum. Will train, but prior work experience is a plus. Requires standing for long periods of time performing repetitive food chopping and ingredient weighing. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to manage a large workload in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, deadline-driven work environment. Must be dependable, punctual , organized, and conscientious. Five-day work week, 7:00 a.m to 3:45 p.m. Days off will be Mondays and Tuesdays; the work week includes all Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver?s license.
Under general supervision, is responsible for the timely preparation and delivery of animal diets and feeds according to fixed schedules. Prepares diets with knives and other kitchen equipment in accordance with specifications that include precise weights, measures, and ingredient sizes. Assures acceptable condition of produce and feed inventories and rotates stock. Unloads supplies, cleans and sanitizes diet preparation and storage areas. Provides assistance and information to co-workers and keeper staff as needed. Reports to the Senior Technician and the Commissary Manager.
