A high school diploma and one (1) year of experience that is directly related to the area of
employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources
Regulations.
A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required.
Assists with the inspection of all phases of construction work, including pipe, curb and gutter installation, grading and base, drainage, catch basins, foundations, concrete, reclamation, and
asphalt placement. Performs inspection work independently in asphalt or earthwork type
construction. Assists with taking construction measurements. Calculates pay quantities including,
areas, cubic yards on excavation, asphalt rates, spread rates, and lengths. Computes grades as
necessary. Assists with keying all construction notes and pay items into Site Manager as daily
work reports. Assists with preliminary engineering work including stationing, staking, and cross
slope. Collects required construction samples according to SCDOT specifications. Performs other
duties assigned by RCE and ARCE.
