Minimum and Additional Requirements
Candidates must be a currently licensed RN or LPN with two (2) or more years of nursing experience, including at least one (1) year in the provision of long-term care services. LPN candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience caring for elderly or chronically ill patients.
Other qualified healthcare professionals may be considered with at least three (3) years of experience in the field as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), phlebotomist, Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or other laboratory professional. Candidates with experience in medical coding and billing will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
An associate degree or higher is preferred; equivalent work experience in the field may be considered. Preference will also be given to candidates who hold current instructor credentials in their field of study or profession.
Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.
The instructor is responsible for the accurate and high-quality delivery of the program curriculum in accordance with state and national standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, course preparation; lecture and lab instruction using a variety of delivery methods; clinical coordination and instruction; maintaining student records; and meeting all reporting deadlines required by program governing bodies.
The instructor will maintain ongoing communication with students, faculty, and staff; appropriately schedule certification exams; and maintain current provider certifications and instructor credentials.
