Bachelor?s degree in an education or science related field. 2-3 years experience delivering and planning formal/informal education programs for schools and school-aged learners. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prefer experience with public school science programs. Must demonstrate enthusiasm for nature and science and creativity in developing programs that will inspire enthusiasm in others. Must be available to work at special events that may be on weekends and/or evenings. Must possess or be eligible for a valid SC state driver's license.
Under limited supervision, the Coordinator of School Programs is directly responsible for the coordination, development, and instruction of the school programs offered by Riverbanks Zoo & Garden. Insures that all programs are student centered and are written in accordance with both national and state of South Carolina education standards. The Coordinator also trains and coordinates part-time instructors and develops and delivers effective teacher-training programs. Reports to the Director of Education.
