Cremation Operator

We currently have an opening for a Funeral Attendant at JP Holley Funeral Home and Crematory in Columbia, SC. The Funeral Attendant will set up and assist with viewings, funeral services, memorial services, transfer of remains from the place of death to the funeral home, and other tasks associated with funeral and memorial services as assigned by management.

Job Description

● Check-in/out of deceased with care and compassion
● Fill out paperwork affiliated with cremation compliance
● Assist with operating crematory under direct supervision of management
● Ability to lift, pull, push, and operate a mortuary stretcher
● Demonstrate core values of excellence, trust, care and growth in performing all aspects of position
● Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, co-workers, and management
● Comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Funeral Home Policies and Procedures.

● Treat human remains with respect and decorum
● Ability to maintain a clean/organized work environment
● Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

Job Types - Full-time

Experience:

• Funeral Home Experience Required
• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred but not required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent
