Job Description:

Reporting directly to the pastor, the youth director works to foster and nurture the growth of Abbeville Presbyterian Church's children and youth through multiple events, activities, and programs.  The youth director:

  • Teach Sunday school to middle school/high school youth
  • Present a children's message during worship
  • Conduct annual programs; eg. youth Sunday, Christmas program, VBS, etc.
  • Lead an annual mission trip
  • Promote denominational retreats and overnights
  • Plan events involving service, study, or recreation  
  • Communicate regularly with parents of children and youth
  • Attend Children and Youth Nurture Committee meetings
  • Attend annually an enrichment and professional development event
  • Participate in and support local community youth events and programs
  • Maintain and keep up to date the APC Youth page on Facebook
  • SLED background check
Schedule:
Primarily Sunday mornings and
Sunday evenings. Special events require more time, eg. mission trip, overnight ski trip, etc.
