Position reports to Mill Engineer and Facility Manager as required for assignments.

This internship is for a position at the SWM Prosperity facility.  This is a “hands on” learning position suited for someone wishing to acquire a broad range of experience.   Scope of duties is to include:

 

  • Generating and documenting “as built” electrical control cabinet wiring using ACAD as directed.
  • Elementary PLC programming for data collection.
  • Configuration of facility “process historian” for data collection.
  • Development of implementation of data collection schemes, including, but not limited to, wiring, coding, network configuration.
  • Review and evaluation of existing equipment in preparation for upgrade recommendation.
  • Work with vendors as required to achieve the above listed goals.
  • Troubleshooting as skill develops of equipment.
  • Programming of “Human Machine Interfaces” (HMI) using Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk Suite.
  • General operations support as directed.
  • Work with operators and maintenance staff as required to accomplish tasks.
  • Participate in safety programs and audits as directed.

 Hours are from 08:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week nominal).  Some overtime or after hours work maybe required.
