Minimum Qualifications

 Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited technical college, and currently working towards a Associate’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (Computer interests);

          OR

  • An alumni of an accredited technical college with an Associates Degree in Associate’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (Computer interests)
  • The candidate should have internet access and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially (Excel and Word)

In addition:

  • Must pass General Employment Training (GET)
  • Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT)

These two items will be scheduled before the intern starts work at Savannah River Sit

Job Description:

Student Intern (LSE - Limited Service Employee)  to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

This internship assignment will be in the Process Engineering organization.  This assignment provides the student skills needed to create data analytics dashboards using the Microsoft Power BI product.  The student will also learn the the software life cycle by creating documentation to capture software requirements, schedule, design, testing, and implementation corresponding to their project dashboard(s).  Multiple dashboards will be created as time allows.
The intern will perform meaningful work in support of the organization.  Guidance will be provided using SRR processes and procedures.  Interns will prepare and present a final project to the SRR management team summarizing conclusions about the experience, impacts delivered and relevance for their future career.

Additional Information:
A regularly scheduled work week is set by the individual department not to exceed 40 hours a week.  Interns will be paid a competitive hourly rate;  no interns will be assigned to shift work; overtime is not available.

Assignments will be located in SRR facilities on the 300sq mile D.O.E. site in Aiken, SC.  Public transportation is not available and interns will be required to arrange their own transportation.   A valid Driver’s License, vehicle registration and proof of automobile insurance is required for driving on the Savannah River Site.
