Job Description:
Position Scope
Working under direction of HSE Manager, the Environmental Tech works in the manufacturing area and the wastewater treatment facility to monitor the effectiveness of the wastewater treatment.
Job Descriptions
This position is responsible to but not limited to:
- Monitor, examine production activity and analyze, including sampling, for the identification of waste sources that impact wastewater treatment and wastewater discharge.
- Regular 15 minute routine inspections of wastewater treatment facility 3 times during each 8 hour work shift, including grabbing samples and analyzing pH
- Monitor, and fill chemical storage tanks as needed
- Clean both pH probes once each day
- Calibrate both pH probes twice a week; Tuesday & Friday
- Work on “Water Balance” using incoming water meter readings and wastewater effluent flow measurements
- Confirm once each day the Wastewtaer Effluent Flow Meter level measurement & clear out bubbler tube with an air pump
- Observe for irregularities, such as Smell, Foam, Flow, pH & EQ Tank Level as well as Chemical Storage Tank Level change, to identify the source of irregularity
- Observe & perform duties as required, during weekly sample collection by Pace Analytical
- Perform routine maintenance
- Maintain good housekeeping in wastewater area
