Bachelor’s degree with directly relevant experience working within an equine program and/or a therapeutic riding program. Experience working with PTSD and/or logistical planning is preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history.
Must have strong communication skills, computer and software programs, as well as data processing and record keeping practices. Ability to operate in a challenging environment and work independently to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, volunteers, and the general public. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. General knowledge of equine care.
Assists in the operation of Lander University’s Equestrian Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Program. In the broad context of the program, the Equine Coordinator shall act as a horsemanship/exercise facilitator under the programmatic training of the clinical coordinator and the contracted training consultant. This shall include executing session agendas, facilitating cooperation and participation, as well as working directly with the clinical coordinator to evaluate program outcomes. The Equine Coordinator of the Equestrian PTSD Program reports to the Director of Military and Veteran Services with a dotted reporting line to the Manager of Equestrian Operations.
