Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- One year of heavy equipment operation experience or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Greenwood County is looking for a team players to join the Road/ SWD crews. These require you to operate and perform routine preventative maintenance on and operation of various types of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, motor graders, equipment crane, pans, compactors, etc.
Duties include but not limited to:
- spreading, compacting and covering waste; digging trenches; grading and stock piling soil.
- Assists with various other department duties as needed, including operating weigh station; maintaining wastewater pump station and leachate pond, maintaining groundwater, monitoring wells, etc.
- Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, this determines how or when to complete tasks.
