Coordinates and executes all Uptown/City sponsored community and holiday events, utilizing City facilities and resources, working seamlessly with City staff, community organizations and the public.
Manages all Special Events applications and notifications to appropriate departments and community organizations.
Serves as the liaison to the Uptown & City stakeholders regarding events and activities.
Responsible for all communications and networking in support of all community events and assists with the development of new opportunities to build community awareness and attendance.
Develops new events and maintains, organizes, and manages existing events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently and generate maximum community engagement & satisfaction.
Responsible for contracting new and existing event sponsorship opportunities per event and on a yearly basis while retaining current and future sponsors by offering services and opportunities to fulfill their needs.
Provides updates and information on upcoming events and creates post event reports to event committee and staff.
Maintains and updates social media, events calendars and website for all events and market activities.
Responsible for the management of the Uptown Market, including recruiting and coordinating vendors, ensuring compliance and regulations, managing entertainment, directing set-up and clean -up each Market Day.
Develop Goals, objectives, and new ideas for the Market.
Assist with the development and management of the market and event annual budget.
Oversees the scheduling of any city owned facility rentals and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Under general supervision, the Events & Market Coordinator will be responsible for creation, planning, promotion, and implementation of all events hosted by Uptown and the City of Greenwood. The coordinator will also manage the weekly Uptown Farmer’s Market and coordinate community events utilizing city owned properties or venues. This position reports to the Uptown Manager.
