High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Horticulture preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Management experience over a grounds crew preferred.
*Computer use required. Equipment used will include: riding and push mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, blowers, tractors, pesticides and fertilizers. Some heavy lifting may be required.*
Responsible for planning and scheduling labor/equipment needs for weekly, monthly, and seasonal grounds maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system. Implement sustainable, eco-friendly, low maintenance, drought tolerant landscapes and lawns. Must have ability to design/plan, install and maintain irrigation systems. Trained and licensed in the use of environmentally responsible/safe herbicides and pesticides. Manage equipment preventative maintenance with focus on extended life and reduced fuel consumption. Monitor safety practices and implement safety training. Evaluate and manage lawn care service contracts.
