Requirements:

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required

· Three years of experience in basic mechanics, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and grounds keeping

· Skills in the safe use of tools and equipment to carry out duties

· Basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and appliances and ability to make minor repairs

· Valid driver’s license and insurability is required

· Strong communication skills

Job Description:

Primary Purpose:

The Grounds Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the excellent appearance of the grounds on the Greenwood Campus.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Maintains the campus grounds and makes any necessary corrections to keep it neat, attractive and presentable

· Assists with lawn care duties including, but not limited to grass cutting, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, clearing the cemetery, and managing the area round the pond

· Assists with work sets on campus and divides needs into individual responsibilities that will keep the students engaged in grounds care and safety

· Ensures lawn care equipment is in good work condition and communicates to maintenance on needed repairs

· Helps with emergencies and additional activities across campus

· Ensure the completion of task that students do not have time to finish

· Achieve yearly “Gold Star” list

· Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Work Conditions:

· Involves walking and standing for extended periods of time

· Involves strenuous physical labor for long hours, in extreme heat and cold temperatures

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors

· Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds on a continual basis

· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends based on ministry needs

· Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods
