Job Description:

Would you like to join the City of Newberry’s PRT team for an exciting summer experience assisting with day‐to‐day activities within the City’s premier Splash Park?  If you enjoy the sunshine and are a responsible, hard‐working, energetic and customer‐oriented individual seeking flexibility and fun, then we have an opportunity for you! 

The successful applicants will be responsible for, but not limited to:
▪  Supporting Splash Park operations and facility upkeep
▪  Reporting promptly at assigned time of duty and remaining on duty until the designated shift has ended
▪  If unable to work due to an emergency or illness, will notify PRT Program Manager in advance and obtain a staff substitute subject to approval of Program Manager
▪  Accepting cash and card payments
▪  Providing exceptional customer service by interacting and communicating with diverse groups and individuals within the general public as well as with City staff
▪  Reminding guests of splash park rules, when necessary, in a polite, firm manner
▪  Processing and ensuring DHEC compliance with water analysis through log maintenance
▪  Rendering first aid/CPR, if required
▪  Performing a variety of general maintenance duties to include facility and restroom cleaning, stocking of supplies and upkeep of splash park features.
 

Schedule:
Flexible scheduling as the park is open six (6) days a week. The park will remain staffed on holidays. The position will begin in May and will operate until Labor Day. During the summer, working hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:30 am – 7:45 pm, Saturday, 7:45 am – 7:45 pm, and Sunday, between 11:45am – 7:45pm. Private parties will be scheduled before and after regular operating hours.
