Requirements:

Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, or Education Required:

  • Certified Gunsmith from an accredited school; 3-5 years’ experience working with a certified Gunsmith; or equivalent military training
  • Extensive knowledge of the 1911 platform
  • 2 years experience using manual mills as well as lathes with CNC experience being preferred
  • 2-years’ experience continuously working on firearms
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
Job Description:

Position Summary: In cooperation with the Production Manager the Gunsmith will help establish the production processes for assembling each firearm ensuring the established quality standard is achieved. Once the processes are created, the Gunsmith along with the Armorers will assemble and test each firearm. In some cases, the Gunsmith will be called on to troubleshoot and/or repair firearms in development or having been returned to the company.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all firearms produced function per the design specification as well as safely.
  • Assist in the design and development of new firearms products
  • Finishing of parts which would include surface finishing, chamfering, blasting, as well as coating
  • Where needed, fit parts to ensure optimum function and aesthetics
  • Assist in training Armorers to ensure consistent quality standards are met
  • Fabricate or modify parts with manual or CNC mill/lathe
