Bachelor’s Degree, thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of Rugby practices and procedures, USA Rugby L200 Coaching Certification, and at least one year of coaching experience at the collegiate level or club level. Master's degree preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of coaching, recruiting and program administration required. Knowledge of NCAA and USA Rugby rules and regulations required. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of the game of rugby required. Ability to use Microsoft Office. Must have good communication skills and have ability to develop good rapport with students, parents, and staff.
The Head Coach of Men's and Women's Rugby, under the direction of the Athletic Director, is responsible for but are not limited to, recruiting qualified student athletes, monitoring academic success and progress toward degree, budgeting, scheduling, competition and practice preparation, individual program development, and approved fundraising events. The successful candidate must fulfill these duties while adhering to all guidelines as set forth by athletic department, Lander University, NCAA, Peach Belt Conference and USA Rugby.
Varied to include evenings and weekends. Overnight travel is required.
