We are currently seeking experienced Heat Treat Operators for a new transmission facility located in Laurens County.

Job Summary: Executes and operates heat treatment process including but not limited to operation of ovens, shot blast, and inspection equipment. Provides direction to team members for daily production requirements.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Leads and directs the daily operations within the Heat Treat Department: organizes/shapes the workflow. Performs supervisor duties in the supervisor's absence.
- Trains and develops new operators. Performs operator duties in the operator's absence.
- Records and tracks data for assigned areas.
- Monitors inventory in terms of process materials, manufacturing supplies (e.g. nitrogen, propane, ammonia, hardening oil and chemical additives), triggering necessary reorders.
- Operate, load, prepare, adjust, control, aeration and shutdown of case hardening processes including: furnace equipment , loaders, quench bath, washer, generators and shot blast equipment
- Operate, load, prepare, adjust, control, aeration and shutdown of pit furnace processes including: furnace equipment,
- Works with process engineers to optimize heat treat processes.
- Perform production processes according to process work instructions and control plans
- Perform and document operator PMs (preventative maintenance) according to procedures
- Maintains equipment and tools to ensure safe and reliable production.
- Responsible for reporting any deviations to process standards including but not limited to: quality, cycle times, equipment defects, safety risks.
- Prepares samples (which could include operation of cnc machines) for heat treat inspection per work instructions.
- Performs inspections on heat treat samples per work instructions.
- Masking of components in order to prevent carbonizing as defined in work instructions
- Charging components in fixtures for heat treatment
- Supports 5S activities by maintaining production areas according to standards
- Communicates in a customer/supplier approach with upstream and downstream processes to ensure production requirements are met.
- Reports deviations or inaccuracies in process documents (such as value stream maps, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs) to appropriate process engineers and supervisors.
- Performs related tasks as needed

Accountabilities: Incumbent reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is exposed to a hot and sometimes dirty environment.

Job Qualifications:
- Training/Education Requirements: H.S. Diploma, English language competency required. Training courses should include TS16949 and ISO 14001 awareness training.
- Experience Requirements: Knowledge of Heat Treat operations. 5 years experience in manufacturing. Prior lead position experience and product knowledge preferred.

Schedule:
1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. 8 hour shifts with the potential for required Over Time.
