Wages/Salary: $25,459.00 - $34,402.00 annually
A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Assists with vegetation management, drainage issue correction, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, and other required duties relating to maintenance of Interstate 26 in Newberry County. Assists with installation of driveways, drainage issue correction, pothole patching, and other related duties as required on other State-maintained roads in Newberry County. Trains to operate 5 yard dump truck hauling equipment and materials to and from job sites. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-ofway, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying side line/cross line pipe. Performs duties as required for normal daily operations such as flagging, work zone setup and take down, follow vehicle driving, small power tool operation, and tree removal. Performs duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies, snow-ice , and equipment operation such as plow, loader, or spreader, requiring right-of-way debris removal. Performs other related duties as required.
