Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Performs duties using manual labor in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/ cross line pipe. Trains in the operation of a standard dump truck hauling material and equipment to job sites. Trains to operate dump truck
with sand spreader and snow plow attachment during inclement weather. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Trains in the operation of heavier equipment such as tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, self-propelled belt loaders, steel wheel and pneumatic rollers, motor graders, and backhoes. Trains to operate
broom tractor during ditching operations to clean debris from roadway. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
