Hospice Aide – CNA – Full Time

The Hospice Aide is responsible for providing comprehensive care within the knowledge and skills of the Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Care is provided in diverse social cultural environments and care settings. Primary focus is on the patient and family goals and needs from the onset of life-limiting progressive illness through the dying process, death, and bereavement.

Functions as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) that provides quality care to address all the dimensions (physical, psycho-social, emotional and spiritual) of care. Provides compassionate support and physical care to promote the highest quality of life for patients and families.

Competent nursing assistant performance is demonstrated by assisting the Registered Nurse in the nursing process; essential duties include observation, collaboration with team members, and identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes. The Hospice Aide collaborates with the Registered Nurse to develop the patient and family plan of care.
