Associates degree in an information technology related field with emphasis on networks, including Microsoft and Unix/Linux environments, network security, and application administration. Must have at least 1 year of experience in an IT help desk environment.
This temporary position is located with the Division of State IT (DSIT). Incumbent will work closely with the SC Enterprise Information Systems (SCEIS) Level 1 Help Desk Support and Change Management in an effort to ensure infrastructure stabilization and reliability for the statewide enterprise. Develops and documents procedures using the Change Management Database (CMDB) for problem identifcation, notification, and resolution with Tier 1 Support personnel. Has primary responsibility for the implementation and integration of a CMDB into the DSIT Service Center. Integrates a CMDB to assist with projecting the effect of proposed changes and the accurate assessment of the scope of impact of network troubles based on trouble ticketing and monitoring tool reporting. Responsibilities will include effective alarm tracking, trouble ticket notification and escalation, and timely problem resolution using electronic tools and other technical support documentation.
