This position requires an Associate’s degree in Computer Technology or 3-5 years of experience in technical and network support in a related field. A strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems and networking, such as TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Permissions, is preferred. Knowledge of Linux, JUNOS, virtual technologies, videoconferencing technologies and Veeam software products is preferred. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team, be an effective communicator and be able to translate their technical knowledge into actionable direction. Applicants must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 20 to 25 pounds, be able to walk up and down stairs, and have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stand and work with hands above head level. Occasional travel to GGC satellite offices within South Carolina is required.
The Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) has an immediate opening for an IT Technician. The position will be located in the Greenwood GGC office and will provide support for our IT Team and assistance to the Director of IT. The primary role of this position will be to provide technical assistance related to computer hardware and software as well as other technology tools and products, and to participate in the operation of the IT helpdesk which supports GGC staff members. The technician should be able to give prompt responses to questions from employees, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems related to operating systems.
