Wages/Salary: The Installation Technician position starts out at $17.00 per hour
Minimum qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid SC Drivers License and ability to maintain standards for insurability
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated computer Skill
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Within 24 months, obtain and maintain pertinent Operator Qualifications and successfully perform job related skills as required.
• Daily completion of required documentation
Desired qualifications:
• Associates Degree in a Technical Field
• 3 years’ experience in natural gas industry.
• Possess and maintain a valid state of South Carolina commercial driver's license.
• Electrical experience
• Heavy equipment operation
• Welding Experience
Physical Requirements:
• Work is minimally strenuous but may require exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; will involve walking or standing for extended periods of time. Primarily works outdoors and may involve working during inclement weather. Must be able to walk over uneven terrain.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and out-town, as need
Under guidance from the Senior Installation Technician, performs safe and professional installation of natural gas plumbing and appliances for residential and commercial customers. Reports to the Operations Supervisor of Unregulated Services & Customer Gain.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
% Of Time Performed Major responsibilities and specific job duties
45% Performs installations of natural gas plumbing and appliances for residential and commercial customers. Vents appliances as needed while ensuring compliance with all applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
35% Inspects pipes and other equipment for leaks.
10% Installs gas meters, receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports including work orders, leak reports, survey sheets, time sheets, daily work reports, etc.
10% Performs Leak investigation, and leak repair tasks, as well as assist with leak survey tasks, as needed
