Currently enrolled in a degree program in Agriculture, Soil Science, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field. 

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred. 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment. 

Willingness to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions. 

Interest in agriculture, farming operations, and the food production industry. 

Ability to take direction and work both independently and as part of a team. 

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Job Description:

The College Intern – Agricultural Operations supports field operations with a primary focus on sweet corn production. This role is responsible for assisting in harvest planning, crop scouting, and data collection to support yield optimization and operational decision-making. The intern will gain hands-on experience in agricultural production, field operations, and data analysis while contributing to farm projects and presenting findings to leadership at the end of the internship.

Assist in scheduling and planning the harvest of sweet corn acreage based on crop readiness and field conditions. 

Conduct regular field scouting to evaluate crop maturity, quality, and harvest timing. 

Communicate harvest plans daily with sales and harvesting teams. 

Collect and analyze data related to yield, taste, size, and product appearance. 

Support preparation and delivery of end-of-season presentation to leadership. 

Assist with general farm operations including planting, spraying, fertilizing, and cultivating. 

Conduct soil and tissue sampling for crop health analysis. 

Scout additional crops and assist with variety trials and field experiments. 

Update and monitor field software systems and production data. 

Support administrative and office-related tasks as needed. 

Maintain accurate records and documentation of field observations and activities. 

Follow all company safety and operational procedures. 

Perform other duties as assigned.
