Preferred Requirements
- An education in controlled environment agriculture, plant science, or environmental sciences
- 2.5+ cumulative years of experience working in a greenhouse or vertical farm
- Previous experience managing a team of 10 or more individuals
We're looking for a full time Lead Grower at our Columbia hydroponic farm location. Reporting to the Head Horticulturist and working closely with the Production Staff, the Lead Grower will oversee grower and horticulture team daily functions for pod system health and plant health checks, ensuring support of farm team needs, and reporting issues in an appropriate timeframe for a single production site.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily operations of growers for a single production site
- Direct management and maintenance of analytical equipment and growing systems
- Track and document all checks performed in growing areas by growers
- Maintain healthy crops throughout the growing process
- Maintain clean working areas
- Identifying and troubleshooting crop & system issues and implementing solutions.
- Oversee scouting and pest control processes by executing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and applying biological controls
- Routinely monitor environmental and water parameters via Boxcar Software for proper plant growth
- Maintain and enforce all Food Safety Standards set forth by the Food Safety Director
- Training new growers once hired
- Train growers on updated processes as needed
