Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Family owned firm with locations in Hendersonville, NC is seeking an NC licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. Must have completed mortuary school and have a NC Funeral Directors/Embalmer License or the ability to reciprocate a license from another state. Great work atmosphere with a team approach including an open-door management policy.

Must be a self-starter that is detailed oriented and possesses excellent interpersonal/communication skills to interact with families. This person will have proficiency with computers & MS Office and ability to learn and become proficient with industry specific software. Must have strong organizational skills to include time management and the ability to multi-task. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and the ability to lift at least 50lbs.

Responsibilities include meeting with client families to make funeral arrangements, present and explain service options, and assist with all aspects of coordinating cremation/burial services. Make transfers from place of death during business hours. Preparation room duties include embalming/dressing/casketing. Flexible schedule with every other weekend off. No night/weekend removals. Rotating on-call nights to dispatch transfer staff.
