QUALIFICATIONS
? High school diploma or the equivalent
? Two-year technical degree in mechanical technology or related discipline
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
? Five to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment
? Familiarity with wood processing machines, control panels/gauges, and quality requirements.
TECHNICAL AND FUNCIONAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
? Strong computer skills (maneuver through screens, record data, etc.)
? Ability to read and interpret gauges, graphs, etc.
? Trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
COMPETENCIES
? Self-motivated and capable of working with little or no supervision
? Ability to be part of a multifunctional/multi-skilled organization with a willingness to work as required by plant production priorities
MISSION
Perform daily activities related to meeting production goals in Drying/Pelletizing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Maintain a safe work record and a safe environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Comply with all requirements regarding PPE, safety training, and safe work habits.
? Maintain company quality standards and requirements.
? Follow all work instructions and comply with all company policies.
? Monitor control equipment (control panel, screens and gauges) for drying/pelletizing equipment and belt and chain conveyors.
? Visually check machine and equipment operation.
? Operate the furnace, the dryer, hammer mills, pelletizers and other auxiliary equipment.
? Maintain adequate records of occurrences and key production variables such as production and quality.
? Participate in projects that improve safety, efficiency and / or reduce operating costs.
? Participate in planned and unplanned shutdowns according to the plant needs.
? Perform housekeeping routines.
? Perform preventive maintenance activities and replace parts as required.
? Assist maintenance technicians in performing maintenance and repairs as needed.
? Assist with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues as needed.
? Provide work instructions and guidance to other operators.

Work Environment
Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, noise, and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of outside weather conditions.
Physical Demands
This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The mill will operate 24/7/365. Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as the work dictates.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
