Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify:
    • Associate degree or higher in a technical discipline.
    • Two or more years’ machine or mechanic experience as a primary job function.
    • One year First Solar technical experience.
    • Six months’ experience as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Safety first mindset.
  • General electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.
  • Self-directed, ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and oral communications skills in English.
  • Able to trouble shoot and solve problems on the manufacturing line.
  • Ability to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks.
Job Description:

Manufacturing Engineering Technician 

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MET) role is a hands‑on position focused on problem‑solving, data analysis, and working directly with advanced manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, high‑volume production. This is a shift‑based, crew role with 12‑hour rotating schedules, typically three to four days per week, offering built‑in days off and strong work‑life balance in a clean, highly automated solar manufacturing environment. The role is well suited for individuals with associate degrees in technical fields or engineering graduates seeking hands‑on experience, with company‑paid learning and clear career paths into advanced technical, engineering, & leadership roles across multiple U.S. locations.
