Job Description:

All positions involve moving assembled gensets between locations in the facility via fork truck or other powered vehicle and on to trucks outbound to the customer. All Material Handlers must read and comprehend CAT work orders and standard work instructions. Quality and safety of work is imperative, while completing job functions in a specified amount of time.
? Unload inbound and outbound trucks.
? Verify paperwork against material shipped.
? May Operates a forklift or other powered equipment.
? May Operates a combi lift to move engines and finished goods 10,000lbs to 70,000lbs;
? May Operates a yard dog to move engines and finished goods 10,000lbs to 70,000lbs;
? May operate a crane;
? May operate the Bromma;
? May perform assembly tasks as required;
? Fills in and helps team as needed;
? Assists in training new employees;
? Assists in 5s in the shipping yard (Buck horns, Metal tubs, pallets and racks);
? Must wear protective equipment when performing work;
? Possesses a basic overall understanding of the product and line flow.
? Works diligently on CPS Guiding Principles (Understands and identifies waste).
? Assists in training employees who are new to the workstation.
? Participates in process troubleshooting and helps to determine root cause.
? Participates in RIWs, contributing process expertise.
? Submits Continuous Improvement (CI) ideas, provides feedback on ideas and participates in idea implementation.
? Participates in Process Improvement Dialogs (PIDs).
? Participates in creating Standardized Work and follows defined method.
? Attend required annual training.
Unloads inbound and outbound trucks. Loads assembled gensets on to trucks, following all facility and safety policies. Able to read and understand work orders and standard work instructions, and be able to work in basic CAT computer systems. Communicate with supporting departments as needed to ensure work is correct and accurate.
