A 10th grade education and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Requires attainment of a Class B Commercial Driver's License within six(6) months of placement in the position.
Under direct supervision, performs routine duties of basic mechanical and maintenance work on automotive vehicles and specialized equipment. Assists technicians in maintaining and repairing cars, pickup trucks, dump trucks and suburbans. Repairs brakes, water pumps, batteries,
radiators and changes transmission fluid and filters. Performs tune-ups and routine checkups. Checks and changes oil, and hydraulic and brake fluids. Performs other related duties as required.
