Wages/Salary: The state salary range is $20,450.00 - $37,840.00 annually. Agency hiring minimum range is $25,699.00 and agency hiring maximum range is $37,840.00.

Requirements:

The REQUIREMENTS ARE TENTH GRADE EDUCATION AND TWO (2) YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE THAT IS DIRECTLY; RELATED TO THE AREA OF EMPLOYMENT; OR AN APPROVED ACCEPTABLE EQUIVALENCE IN; ACCORDANCE WITH STATE HUMAN RESOURCES REGULATIONS; A VALID COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE (CLASS A). Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ARE TO ASSISTS OTHER MECHANICS IN PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND GENERAL REPAIRS; TO VARIOUS TYPES OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT, IN OVERHAULING ALL TYPES OF ENGINES, IN MAKING REPAIRS TO AND/OR REBUILDING AUTOMATIC AND STANDARD TRANSMISSIONS; PERFORMS VEHICLE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICE LEVELS ON DOT EQUIPMENT; CHECKS FUEL, WATER, AND OIL LEVELS TO ENSURE PROPER SERVICING. TROUBLESHOOTS VEHICLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND TRAINS IN THE USE AND UNDERSTANDING OF VARIOUS TYPES OF DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND REPAIR MANUALS USED IN SPOTTING AND
DIAGNOSING EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS. PERFORMS ROUTINE LIGHT DUTY REPAIRS TO BRAKE
SYSTEMS AND ASSISTS IN MAKING MORE COMPLICATED REPAIRS TO CONVENTIONAL BRAKE
SYSTEMS, REBUILDING CARBURETORS, AND IN MAKING REPAIRS TO FUEL INJECTION
SYSTEMS. ASSISTS IN MAKING REPAIRS TO EXHAUST SYSTEMS; PERFORMS ROUTINE
REPLACEMENT OF MUFFLERS AND TAILPIPES. ASSISTS HIGHER LEVEL MECHANICS IN MAKING
REPAIRS TO DRAWBRIDGES WITHIN HORRY COUNTY. INSTALLS AND REPAIRS INCLEMENT
WEATHER EQUIPMENT; ANSWERS SERVICE CALLS IN THE FIELD AS NECESSARY.

Schedule:
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00- 5:00.
