A 10th grade education and four (4) years of work experience that involved the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Repairs and maintains all vehicles and equipment including engine overhaul, transmission repairs and overhaul, and clutch replacements to both gas and diesel trucks. Performs wiring repairs,brake jobs, and tune ups when required on vehicles as needed. Performs electrical and acetylene welding to make repairs or modify parts on trucks and equipment. Diagnoses and makes repairs to electrical systems and hydraulic systems to ensure proper and safe operation of dump trucks, pick-up trucks , cars and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Assists in shop operations during inclement weather. Assists in auto/truck body repairs, when necessary. Rebuilds and replaces brake systems.
