Wages/Salary: $26,139.00 - $48,361.00 Annually
A tenth grade education and three and one half (3.5) years of work experience
that involves the independent performance of job duties directly related to the
area of employment, or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with
State Human Resources Regulations.
Must possess, or obtain, a commercial driver?s license (DDL) within 6 months of
placement.
Performs skilled duties in repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
requiring a high degree of skill and expertise. Reads and interprets technical
manuals, chart and parts manuals to the plan work and select replacement
parts. Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls gasoline and diesel engines.
Repairs and rebuilds automatic and manual transmissions in trucks and all the
heavy equipment. Repairs differentials, PTOs, power steering units, clutches,
hydraulic brakes and chassis work. Repairs forklifts and jacks. Uses gas and
electric welding /cutting to repair worn or broken equipment. Manufactures
broken or lost pieces. Manufactures special equipment and bodies. Repairs all
trailers and does maintenance on all equipment. Checks, adjusts, and repairs
air brakes and components. Rebuild hydraulic systems and repairs hydraulic
pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves. Repairs small engine generators, air
compressors and steam cleaners. Troubleshoots electrical equipment. Performs
other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
