Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related field supplemented by three to five years? experience in technical support and programming; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver?s license.
Under general supervision, performs technical work in providing network and computer systems installation, support, and maintenance for computer hardware, software, and networking infrastructure to the information technology environment. Work involves configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and agency-owned enterprise fiber network; developing strategies and direction for network systems solutions; providing complex technical support for network systems; programming data communication networks; supervising network performance and security issues; monitoring firewalls and support functions; ensuring that network connections are online and active; troubleshooting and resolving network communication programs; maintaining current and accurate documentation of existing and future network infrastructure; overseeing work and performance of subcontractors engaged in projects; performing preventative hardware and software maintenance on all system servers; and installing, configuring, and maintaining personal computers and network printers.
