Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • An Associate degree is required, preferably in accounting or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge and experience using MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, M1, etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of procure-to-pay process
  • Position requires experience sourcing raw materials for production including:

Flour

Vegetable Oils

Seasonings

  • Experience sourcing packaging materials including cups, lids, film, trays, etc., preferably global
  • Experience purchasing food processing additives.
  • Ability to negotiate prices, agreements, etc.
  • Experience working in high volume/low margin facilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of financial/operational database programs, standards and an ERP system

Senior Plant Buyer Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and maintain accuracy of MRP system
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in negotiating pricing, agreements, etc.
  • Support monthly inventory count and reconciliation
  • Analyze all usages and scrap rates to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensure compliance to all local, state and Federal regulations
  • Assist all plant supervisors to identify and mitigate ingredient and material losses
  • Identify all appropriate systems and procedures to maintain efficiency of all material and ingredient information
  • Recommend buying strategies to the Procurement Manager and maintain knowledge on all current plant trends
