HS/GED min. Assoc. Degree preferred. Computer skills to input and complete reports. Mechanical skills to understand operation of machine centers. Ability to interpret computer generated data and analyze test directions & results.
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:
?Scales/Log Quality: Inspect and identify log defects based on Co. standards and expectations, and apply appropriate deductions.
? Kilns: Understand the SYP drying process, recognize drying performance issues and provide feedback to the drying team.
? Finished Quality: Ensure that our customers are receiving the best lumber in the business. Follow-up with in-depth analysis and plans to prevent future occurrences.
? Lumber Quality: Gather measurements, analyze data, and interpret results based on targets. Understand grade rules and enforce with graders.
? Control Testing: Perform routine testing on machine centers to ensure correct operation as it relates to quality.
? Quality Audits: Perform QC inspections throughout the mill to ensure guidelines are being followed and to recognize areas of improvement.
? Reporting: Provide reports to management and corporate as required.
? Provide feedback and assist our management team to improve quality of lumber. This includes extensive communication with all.
