Requirements:

? Education: High school graduate; Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology;

? Experience: None beyond Radiology School;
? Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Must be certified in primary modality or obtain certification within 12 months of hire date. Multimodality
technologists must be certified in two modalities or must obtain certification in primary and secondary modalities within 12 months of transfer or hire date.
Current SCQRSA license required. CPR certification is required.

? Special Training: Familiar with all phases of anatomy; and ability to understand

related function of radiology computer; must possess skills necessary to treat

patients of all ages to include trauma.

? Renders care to patients of all age groups

Job Description:

This job, under the direction of a radiologist or physician, performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical data. The technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for the purpose of radiographic diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

? Performs diagnostic procedures proficiently and assures that proper radiation
safety measures are being used.

? Properly administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that
are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved
Radiology protocol.

? Assists radiologist or other physician in the performance of fluoroscopic
procedures and operates imaging equipment effectively.

? Exhibits proper professional ethics and adheres to policies regarding patient

confidentiality.

? Exhibits good knowledge of hospital computer resources and enters data information

accurately and promptly.

? Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending staff meetings and

educational classes.

? Performs diagnostic procedures utilizing mobile radiographic equipment to include

C-arms and portable x-ray machines in the Surgery Department under sterile or

aseptic technique.

Schedule:
PRN - 8 or 12 hour shifts, must be available Sunday through Saturday
