Requirements include a High School diploma or GED; two (2) year Associates Degree in a technical field OR completion of the ICS T&D coursework OR four (4) years? experience as a SCE&G Journeyman Lineman or SCE&G Journeyman Substation Electrician; good PC skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software to include Word and Excel; valid drivers? license with a good driving history; good physical condition to walk various terrains and lift up to 50 lbs.; and be able to pass all badging requirements for access to the V.C. Summer Nuclear Plants and Savannah River Site. Applicants must be safety conscious to work in proximity of high and low voltage electrical equipment, have good verbal and written communication skills, have good problem solving and decision making skills, and must be able to collaborate with varied disciplines both internally and externally as well as operate within the Company's team environment. Applicants must be available to work after hours, scheduled overtime, and callout for emergencies and storm restoration. Selected applicants will be required to live within a 20-mile radius (or 30-minute drive) of the Metro Columbia service territory. Associates? degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in either Electrical or Electronics discipline and experience with protective relaying, SCADA, remote data communications and related technologies is desirable.

Job Description:

Power Delivery is responsible for operating, maintaining, and constructing electric substations and transmission lines up to 230kV. Safe, efficient and reliable operations are critical to our success. This position, available in Columbia, will perform a variety of duties related to the transmission and protective relaying system. Duties will include installing, testing, calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting protective relaying, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and control systems in electrical substations. The qualified candidate will utilize a variety of computer programs to include relay and SCADA manufacturer?s software and Microsoft Office. In addition, the qualified candidate may work with several of our line crews, substation crews, technicians and engineers in the field and perform a variety of functions to include facility installations and outage restoration. The successful candidate must also be willing to respond to system emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
