Position Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program with licensure and registration by the South Carolina Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse. This position requires a minimum of one year nursing experience. One year prior child/adolescent psychiatric experience is strongly preferred.
Must possess knowledge of general and child/adolescent psychiatric nursing, therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors and BLS.
The RN Key Responsibilities include:
Administers medications as ordered; instructs residents in use of medication.
Monitor staff & residents throughout shift
Ensure the safety of residents by ensuring that precautions are being followed as written by physician
Ensure that daily schedule is being followed as outlined
Attend unit shift report
Communicate any changes to the daily schedule to the DON immediately
