Requirements:
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified or ability to obtain certifications.
  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by three (3) to six (6) months of related work experience in customer service and/or pool or water park experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Must have valid SC Driver’s License – no exceptions.
Job Description:

Would you like to join the City of Newberry’s parks and recreation team for an exciting summer experience where you will be assisting the day-to-day activities within the City’s premier Gully Washer Splash Park?  If you are a responsible, hard-working, energetic and customer-oriented individual seeking flexibility and fun, then we have an opportunity for you!!

The successful applicants will be responsible for, but not limited to, supporting splash pad operations and facility upkeep; responsible for opening/closing facility;  accepting payments for entry to splash pad and supervising guests attending the splash pad; processes and ensures DHEC compliance with water analysis through log maintenance; Renders first aid/CPR, if required; performs a variety of skilled manual labor and general maintenance duties to include restroom cleaning, stocking of supplies, snack vending, facility cleaning, scheduling, customer service, and communications across diverse groups.  Interacts and communicates with diverse groups and individuals within the City staff and the general public.  Reports to the PRT Program Manager.

Schedule:
Will vary across operations hours Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The park will remain staffed on holidays. The park is tentatively scheduled for opening June 15, 2020 and will operate until September 7, 2020. When applying, please be detailed when listing your availability.
