The level of this position will be determined by the candidate?s education and/or work experience. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of an Associate?s Degree in a technical field or completion of the T&D apprentice Technician Correspondence course or four(4) years? experience as a SCE&G Journeyman Lineman or SCE&G Journeyman Electrician. The selected candidate must possess a valid driver?s license and have a reliable vehicle to use for work (SCE&G compensates for mileage). Preferred experience includes at least 3 years of experience in CATV pole attachments and/or power pole design/construction.
An opening for a Technical Specialist (multiple levels) is available in the Charleston District. Position is responsible for providing solutions and guidance for positioning and/or repositioning of third party telecommunications facilities on SCE&G power poles. Responsibilities include working with telecommunications/CATV companies and SCE&G Electric Operations teams to coordinate various types of attachments. Requires travel within SCE&G?s electric service territory for the preparation of make ready work orders, detailed construction drawings and estimates of material and labor required for completion of the projects. Excellent communications skills, strong organizational skills, a high level of integrity, a strong team player, attention to details and the ability to work outdoors are required qualities of successful candidates. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office components is essential. SCE&G employees are expected to be available for emergency call-out.
