Requirements:

Students must be currently enrolled in and pursuing an Associates? degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in either Electrical, Electronics, or a Mechanical discipline and be willing to commit to a 3-month summer work schedule. A position is available in Columbia. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. Candidates must meet the requirements of the SCANA Co-Op Program.

Job Description:

Students may perform a variety of duties related to the operation of the electric transmission or substation systems. Electric transmission duties may include evaluation of License Agreements and Joint-Use Agreements based on field assessments and/or engineering evaluations, material procurement, inventory reconciliation, etc. Electric substation duties may include assisting with transformer testing, to include power factor and oil quality testing. It may also include cataloging equipment on the Power Delivery System database. Students may utilize a variety of computer programs to include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Power Delivery System, and Microsoft Office. In addition, students may work with several of our line crews, substation crews, technicians and engineers in the field and perform a variety of functions to include facility installations and outage restoration. Students must be available to work after hours, scheduled overtime and call out work as required.
